My bio!
If there is any good in my life, it is because of God at work in me through Jesus Christ. All the junk of my life is my fault. I'm not a victim of anything except my own self.
Before I started first grade in Richmond Indiana, our family had traveled at least 40 States. I had one brother, 15 months younger, and my parents were traveling music evangelists. I grew up in Revivalism in the Church of the Nazarene. In those days we would be in one town for a revival for 10 days and then travel to another town and four days later start another revival.
When I started First Grade my father accepted a position as Minister of Music with First Church of the Nazarene in Richmond. During the time in Richmond my father began his studies as a pastor and begin pastoring in Liberty Indiana shortly before I began the third grade. So, through the rest of grade school and high school I was a PK, a Preacher's Kid.
I've been to college 4 times before I graduated in 1985. In between those efforts I was in the US Army with a combat tour in Vietnam as a helicopter crew chief; worked as a security guard, bank loan collector and loan officer, self employed auto detailer, grocery stocker, sales, finance manager and pastored three congregations. Then right after graduating from Asbury College I worked in a bookstore and then opened an auto repossession agency.
There were other jobs, including radio announcer, skip tracer and factory worker.
While living in Pittsburgh, my brother died September 2002. A year later I discovered an avocation, wedding minister. It became my full-time "occupation" for four years and I completed over 350 weddings in the Pittsburgh area.
I've been in the Rio Grande Valley, very close to the border of Mexico, for 3.5 years. about 6 months after I moved here a bride found me and asked if I'd do their wedding on the beach of South Padre Island. The rest is history. I've completed about 70 weddings since then. And, I'm working in Preferred Client services for a bank.
But, I desire to be back in the pastoral ministry. I'm looking for the opportunity to pastor an existing congregation, or to start a church which will be financed by the weddings (wedding chapel).
I'm not all I should be, but thank God He is not yet finished working on me.
